With six miles of Atlantic Ocean coastline between Dewey Beach and the Indian River Inlet, this popular park includes ocean and bay beaches with bathhouses for public swimming, surf fishing, surfing, skimboarding, kiteboarding and sailboating. At the inlet, Delaware Seashore features a large campground plus the 295-slip Indian River Marina with charter and head boats for ocean fishing trips. All summer long, soon after sunrise, playful dolphins patrol the shallow waters just beyond the surf line. Stroll along the quiet beach as these beautifully sleek creatures leap and dive just a few hundred feet away. Open daily 8 a.m. to sunset. Entrance fee May through October and annual vehicle permits available. Located on Route 1 between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. Call the park at 302.227.2800 or the marina at 302.227.3071 or visit https://www.destateparks.com/Beaches/DelawareSeashore

I personally did not have a positive experience. Given that it is a state park and had campground, I was expecting traditional camping set up in the woods. There were no trees, but more like a field. There were winds constantly, and it made it hard to enjoy sitting outside. With the bridge in sight, there were cars passing by constantly. No campfire was allowed.. I think this place works out well for someone who has a camper or trailer, and for those who want to stay near the beach. For me with tent, it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. I ended up booking another campsite.

A nice park in a cool location. The park is positioned next to/ under the bridge - so you have a unique view. The staff is really great. There's a camp store, the trash area, bathrooms, a play area for kids, and then of course the actual camp spots. The lady at the front sings a welcome song. 🙂

The bathrooms have showers and are kept pretty clean. The shower area is kind of locker room style, i.e. not much privacy. We car camped in a Prius. There's not much space in between each spot and there is little to no tree coverage.

The beach is close and there are nice walking paths. Between the South and the north side, I think there's something around 400 spots. In the summer it is pretty busy. I was impressed at how quiet it was at night considering the amount of campers that were there. Also, you can't beat the proximity to the ocean.

The pass for your car gets you into all the different parks in the area- not just the one you're booked at.

Great place to fish and explore. There is a good place to surf. Launch a boat. Get dinner. Get a fishing charter. Has a tackle ship. Camping options.
