Surf Shanty Motel

We were surprised to find out today via email from hotels.com that we had a reservation for tonight. We don't have a hotels.com account and neither my husband or I recalled making a reservation. We called Shanty - they said a Mastercard had been charged. Whew, we also don't have a Mastercard so that had to be incorrect. This must be fraud.
Looked further, our PayPal account had been charged $382.92 in August. The Motel will not authorize a move of the "reservation" nor issue a refund. The reservation also had cancellation coverage...seems a waste.
Not a great experience.

Great, clean, and convenient place to stay. Right off the Van Dyke beach access. The location makes short work of getting on and off Dewey beach. Andre was as advertised and was super helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and like others have mentioned the beds were super comfy and easy to fall asleep in. Highly recommend!

This is the best place to stay at Dewey! The location is unbeatable with just a quick walk to the beach. The rooms are very clean, and are well decorated. Andre, the manager, was very kind and helpful during our stay. I look forward to returning next summer!!
